Intro Hatha Flow Yoga
Hatha Flow (all levels)
A mixed level class that explores a wide range of poses. Students will practice variations on postures to increase or decrease their difficulty. This class is conducted at a medium pace with time for reflection and rest. Postures are taught in a multi-leveled style so that all levels of experience feel welcome.
Yang-Yin (all levels)
A mix of hatha and yin yoga styles. Class begins with a heat-building, flowing sequence of poses and ends with deeply relaxing hip-openers, back stretches and shoulder releases. All levels and especially good for stiff and busy bodies. All levels.
Super Mom! Mom and baby Pilates/Yoga
This is a total mind and body conditioning class for Moms who are interested in getting back to their pre-pregnancy shape, or maybe even better! Using pilates exercises and yoga poses mothers will target key areas of the body that support carrying and feeding baby and the active lifestyle of a mother. Baby can either be watching you or sleeping in a car seat or on a blanket near you having some tummy-time and playing with toys. Babies welcome from 6 weeks up to crawling. Mothers may bring a yoga mat, a blanket and toys to keep baby busy. Mothers should know that that if they are walking to the studio that a carrier may be best as there is very little room inside the studio to store strollers.
Core Flow (all levels)
Yoga with a core-strengthening focus. Class consists of ½ core work, ½ yoga stretches. All levels but geared more toward the fitness-minded yogi.
Power Flow 1 (all levels)
A dynamic style of yoga with an emphasis on building strength and flexibility and cleansing the body and mind of impurities. A introduction and refresher for both beginner and intermediate power yogis. Class focus is on strong technique and alignment, deepening the breath, the energetic locks, movement connected to breathing rhythm and balancing our strength with flexibility. An energetic style of yoga and the perfect bridging class between Hatha Flow and Power Vinyasa 1-2.
Power Flow 1-2 (for intermediate-advanced students)
A dynamic style of yoga with an emphasis on building strength and flexibility and cleansing the body and mind of impurities. For intermediate yoga students with previous yoga experience, a clean bill of health and no injuries. Students must have a basic understanding of posture foundations, consistent breathing, and have a regular yoga practice. An energetic flow of postures that emphasize core strength and continuity of movement. Based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa system postures are taken from the primary and intermediate series. A detoxifying, deep stretch with plenty of deep breathing.
Power Flow 2 (for intermediate-advanced students)
For experienced yoga practitioners only. The teacher will join students in a visually-led Ashtanga based variation on the primary series. In this class the teacher practises with students with very simple vocal instructions. This is the same sequence every week so regular students will come to know the practise well. Shoulderstand, arm balancing, and headstand are part of this sequence. Please email Shannon at info@sangayoga.ca if you are unsure about the level of this class. A challenging class for most experienced students.
